Eng. Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, received Maria Moraeus, ENGIE E&P Chief Executive Officer, where the two sides discussed bolstering relations and the available investment opportunities as well as the areas of cooperation between the Petroleum Sector & the French Company.
The Minister pointed out that the Egyptian-French partnership in the oil and gas field is growing consistently, in light of the excellent relations between the two countries at all levels. He added that they discussed opportunities to increase the company’s oil and gas upstream activities investments in Egypt in onshore and offshore areas. For her part, ENGIE E&P Chief Executive Officer pointed out that the meeting with the Minister of Petroleum discussed the French company's desire to expand its investments at a number of concession areas in the oil and gas domain, in Egypt on top of which are, West Burullus area in the Mediterranean in addition to the areas of Alam al Shawish, in the Western Desert and AL Dub Valley in the Eastern Desert. She stressed that Egypt's success in achieving major gas discoveries in the Mediterranean recently, is quite an incentive to pump new investments and develop the company's operations in Egypt. |
