Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources recieved Mr. Elias Kassis, Total’s Vice President for exploration in the Middle East and North Africa regions accompanied by Total Egypt’s Managing Director Jean-Pascale Clémençon in the presence of the Ministry’s First Undersecretary for Gas affairs and the Ministry’s Undersecretary for Exploration and agreements.
During the meeting, they reviewed the exploration programs and wells drilling activities executed by the French company within the framework of its commitment to the work program in its concession areas, recently acquired in the latest Bid-Rounds of the sector. Currently, the company drills the “Taref” well in the most important deep geological structures of onshore North Mahalla, Delta, targeting deep Jurassic layers in cooperation with its partner in the concession area, the British company BP. Also, the company executes a wide exploration program in the offshore North “Hamad” area in the Mediterranean, in cooperation with the Italian IEOC and the British BP.
