New Gas Discovery in the Nile DeltaSource: Al-Ahram 7/23/2019, Location: Egypt
Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel) has successfully achieved a natural gas discovery in the Nile Delta concession area, which is currently being put into production at rates of up to 20 million cubic feet per day.
A report was received by the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, by the company's Chairman Eng. Atef Hassan, showed the results of the exploration drilling of the exploration well Quarra - Northeast 1, resulted in the discovery of layers of natural gas carriers during operations The well drilling, which started in May and was completed at the lowest possible economic cost, pointing out that the tests conducted for the well discovered, resulted in initial production rates of 17 mscf/d of gas. Petrobel is linking the well with the existing production facilities in the region and a dependent station of gas fields Abu Madi to increase the economic feasibility in preparation for the transfer of gas and link it to the national natural gas grid.
