Petroleum Minister Tareq Mulla had talks with German ambassador in Cairo Dr. Cyrill Jean Nunn on the activities of German companies operating in Egypt in the fields of energy, petroleum and gas.
Mulla underlined the European Union's support for Egypt to become a regional center for petroleum and natural gas trade. The talks also tackled the role of the Eastern Mediterranean Gas Forum (EMGF) in promoting partnerships among the member states. The talks also reviewed Egypt's efforts to develop refining labs as well as Egypt's success to increase natural gas output and realize self-sufficiency. The German ambassador hailed the Egyptian government's efforts to enhance partnerships with German companies. He commended the progress realized in Egypt under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to achieve Sustainable Development Goals.
