Egypt and Libya agreed to form a joint action group to coordinate cooperation in the field of petroleum. The group, to be co-chaired by Egyptian Undersecretary for Petroleum Mohamed Saafan and Libya’s National Oil Corporation Board Member Jadallah Hamad, will act as a mechanism tool that would guarantee the contacts are routinely maintained.
Petroleum Minister Tarek el Molla received Hamad and his accompanying delegation earlier. During the meeting, the minister asserted Egypt’s full support for the Libyan people and institutions. The meeting also addressed ways to enhance cooperation, involving a number of specialized Egyptian companies, with the aim of supporting Libya’s oil industry.
