Enppi Successfully Installed a Platform for Northwest October Field

In line with the strategy implemented by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources under the leadership of H.E. the Minister Eng. Tarek El-Molla to develop the petroleum resources and improve its efficiency to achieve the objectives of this strategy, which seeks to secure the demands of the domestic market and maximize ROI, besides maintaining a constant enhancement of all sectors related to this vital industry, Enppi – as a leader of a consortium with Petrojet – successfully designed, fabricated and installed a production platform with the use of a drilling jack-up rig for Petrosalam Northwest October (NWO) Field on a LSTK basis, taking into consideration that this operation is the first of its kind in Egypt.

As the EPCI consortium leader, Enppi has proficiently completed the conceptual, FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, installation, coiled-tubing pipelines laying, overall management and pre-commissioning.

Enppi selected this concept for being one of the constructional systems used in offshore minimum facilities platforms. The benefits of utilizing the drilling rig, rather than HLV, for platform installation are summarized in the optimization of the installation cost and schedule, which substantially improves the ROI of the marginal fields, as well as being a favorable method in severe weather conditions.

Enppi managed its technical potentialities to overcome the challenges and risks associated with the implementation of this concept, being used in Egypt for the first time, a success added to Enppi achievements.

It is worth mention that crude oil is transported from the platform to an onshore station via 2 offshore pipelines (Each with a diameter of 5” and 22 km long). The pipelines entered the service during January 2020 with a production capacity of 5000 BPD, which will be pumped into the domestic production network as an added value to the Egyptian national economy.
