Eng. Tarek El Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources received Eng. Sami Iskander, Shell’s Executive Vice President and Eng. Gasser Hanter, Country Chair and Managing Director of Shell Egypt in the presence of Eng. Mohamed Mounes, the Ministry’s First Undersecretary for Gas Affairs where they discussed Shell’s work plan over the coming period.
They reviewed work programs in the Western Desert area in which 3 wells will be drilled, they also discussed speeding up development start up of the 8 wells - phase 9(B) at the Mediterranean in addition to 2 exploratory wells in light of Shell’s work plan to increase the company’s natural gas production rates over the coming years. They agreed upon forming a joint work group between the Petroleum Sector and Shell to further study work programs and future plans as well as setting a mechanism of execution. They also agreed upon making use of Shell’s global technical expertise in training and raising the Petroleum Sector’s youth skills and capabilities.
