Eng.Tarek El-Molla, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, received Mr. Vusi Mavimbala South Africa Ambassador to Egypt, where they discussed opportunities for joint cooperation between the two countries in oil and gas and mineral resources.
Following the meeting, the minister said that the support of the Petroleum-African cooperation is one of the main pillars of the Ministry of Petroleum's strategy, especially as the African continent's countries are major markets and rich with several petroleum and mineral wealth. He stressed that the Petroleum Sector is ready to provide all capabilities and exchange of experts in support of African cooperation, which represents a strategic dimension particularly as the current direction of the Egyptian policy has given African cooperation a substantial priority. The Minister pointed out that South Africa has an important weight and role among the countries of the African continent, especially in the field of mining, and that the Ambassador of South Africa expressed his wish that Egypt's may participate in the International Mining Forum, which is held annually, to be hosted by South Africa.
