A new Correlation between Gas Permeability and Unique electrical rock property Paper Abstract 5/22/2005
A new correlation is developed between a unique electrical rock property and absolute permeability with resistivity measurements data. The relation is simple to use for sandstone cores having different amount of fine-grained. It offers ready application to important estimation of permeability from resistivity measurements using synthetic sandstone cores. In addition results discovered a new concept; each type of rock have a unique electrical rock property which used to estimate absolute permeability. Also this work examined the determined irreducible water saturation from permeability and porosity correlation and compared it with irreducible water saturation obtained from resistivity-saturation curve.
